A CELEBRATION

On Saturday March 28, friends and family of Bob Humphrey gathered to celebrate his life.

Guests were invited to sign the guest book when they arrived.

Rev. Doug Edwards presided over the service.

Bob's son Tim played a solo rendition of a Closer Walk With Thee.

The Golden Eagle Jazz Band entered and joined Tim in playing A Closer Walk With Thee.

Friends, family, and neighbors payed their respects during Saturday's service.

The Golden Eagle Jazz Band played several songs.

Following the service, guests were invited to a reception in the courtyard of Windsor Manor.

A mariachi band entertained guests during the reception.

  2. Jane,

I just cannot believe this day came and went and i was committed to another memorial. Bob was such a fabulous man. His love for you and the kids and grandkids was of the very best one could hope for. Thank you so much for this post. I delighted in the faces i see in the service rows and know that all you love...love you back. I hope you are doing good and finding the love and support you need.

  3. Mr. Bob is smiling down from Heaven.

What a send off he was given.

Nice to see Roger and Diane in the photo as well. I'm sure it was the best Tim has ever played..for his Dad.

    God Bless you all.

  6. We were with you in spirit on this side of the pond and I wore a Reyn Spooner shirt for the day as promised.
Bob would have loved the Golden Eagles playing with Tim.

  8. I've never witnessed so spectacular a send-off. Doug was just the perfect ---what WAS he? Maybe Spirit guide. Made it all come together, injected laughter where there were tears. All those bookstore clients filled the hall, along with friends who live at Windsor, and your family who have almost become our family, we know them so well.

Bob will be sorely missed. Fortunately we have Jane. Here's to your return to full health and participation in your community.

With love to all Humphreys brig and small.

  10. Is it appropriate to say: IT WAS SPECTACULAR! Warm, moving, heartfelt, genuine, unique, and endlessly loving! No one could ask for more. The entire Humphrey clan opened their hearts and let us all in. The service will remain as memorable as Mr. Bob himself.

    Love to all!

    Lisa

  12. I am so thrilled that you were able to find the energy and heart to post this wonderful blog and I loved the pictures. I wanted to tell you that from where I sat I had a perfect view of Owen and as I watched him I was so thankful that he will be able to remember this day as one filled with joy, both in the music (especially Tim's solo) and the laughter and love that were shared. He may not remember the words that were said, but I'm sure he will always remember how much love surrounded your family because Bob was such a special individual. T.O. Joanne

  13. Thank you again for taking the time....to share with us while you were all in mourning...the celebration of the life of Mr. Bob. Oh how much he would have loved his beautiful send off.

So fitting of the family that Mr. Bob and Jane raised.....to share and think of us too.

Hope this finds Jane feeling better since her fall.

  14. This is everything a memorial service should be. The entire Humphrey family should be proud of it and proud of themselves and of their dear Mr. Bob for inspiring so much love and warmth--and just by being who they all are. We readers have come to care about this family so much. I hope each day brings a little more peace and healing.

    Love and Prayers,

    Val
