BEFORE THE NORTHERN CALIFORNIA contingent left, I fashioned a sign for Owen to hold up when he was telling a joke......sort of a rudimentary applause meter so that folks would know when to laugh when he was delivering his four year old witticisms. I don't know if it'll ever be used but he humored me enough to take it on home with him.
Packed up and ready to leave, down the hall they trudged,
waited at the elevator,
down the road to their car,
G'bye, love. Come again soon!
"The prospect of going home is very appealing."David Ginola
Awwww--he really looks like a sweet little guy. I always enjoy hearing about what he's up to. Smart little one, too, I can see. Thanks for sharing the cute photos--I can see why you'd miss him once he takes off.
ReplyDeleteA great story and photos. I am glad that you do get to see him !

ReplyDeleteSaying good bye is the worst!! Anastasia and I still cry. But then you can begin the sweet anticipation of the next visit.
ReplyDeleteXO
How darling and cute with the hat and sign!! I know he loves visiting as much as you love the visit. You 2 are great grandparents!

Susan H writes: Owen is beautiful and smartiful, so bright and insightful. You didn't mention that when the sign was made he said, "Now I look like a protestor." so funny. This is where I would shout, "Who loves Owen?!" and everyone would raise both their hands in the air. I am in the library, thinking it and raising my hands. (the librarian didn't come to see if I had a question) smile
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful....made me smile from beginning to end.
ReplyDeleteOh I've always loved Owen and I can't believe how much he has grown up. Love his little hat and carrying his suitcase in such a grown up fashion. April 11 is right around the corner..and then another birthday. Maybe he'll want to come back again to celebrate at the Manor.
I must say....I LOVE SUSAN......it is as if I'm reading JANE all over again. The wit, the humor...the great writing.
THANKS...wonderful family that you are. : )
