THE IRONY OF IT ALL

WHILE MR. BOB was in surgery, having a port (for the administration of chemotherapy) implanted in his chest,
Susan and I sat in the waiting room, doing just that..........waiting............ and in the process, discovered that the local paper of that very same day featured the Windsor ad showing us dancing away our cares.

Hardly the case, given the circumstances of the day, but amusing in a way.

A taste for irony has kept more hearts from breaking than a sense of humor for it takes irony to appreciate the joke which is on oneself

  1. My friend from grade school, Susan, sent me this article. I love the story behind it and remember your post of that day. The look on Susan's face is so "Jane" that it is amazing. She must have seen display that lovingly a thousand times. Prayers abound!!! T.O. Joanne

  4. Bob just has such a good attitude through all of this. What a good photo of Susan, and yes--HOW ironic that that photo appeared on such a day... She really does resemble you, Jane!

While getting the port sounds difficult, having it will no doubt be better than constantly going back in to that same site without it.

  5. Lots and lots of love from Indy! Give Uncle B a hug for me, Ryan and Claire (so that's three total)! We are thinking of you. p.s. I am not anonymous, it's me Denise, but I can't figure out how to post with a profile :-(

  6. Love it--in an ironic sort of way. So happy that Uncle Bob got his port early. Lee waited too long, and his poor hands and veins suffered. He now sports his port proudly.
    XOXO

  7. Oh my Jane......That picture reminds me of those photos of you two in your bedroom. The big ones. They truly show a delightful, fun couple who enjoy life and make it their own. That photographer captured it. And your daughter as was said earlier....does look like you. How beautiful!
